Fast Park Redesign

This client was what I found typical in agency work. The task is not to rebuild from the ground up, nor is it  to breathe new life into the brand. Fast Park is a well established brand adjacent to the travel sector. They provide parking assistance in a rental style booking system.

Task: Booking parking spots is a pretty boring subject. None of the glitz and glamor you would picture when taking on a new client, but nonetheless, maintenance is a largely underserved portion of the software product cycle.

Discovery: The modernization was the main task, the old system was clunky and obtrusive, possibly leading to an increased bounce rate to bookings. During the discovery phases we identified the problem was a lack of mobile capability. After the pandemic, many of their business clients had shifted from booking on desktop browsers to a convenient ‘last-minute’ booking on their phones.

Ideation: We adopted the user flows of other booking systems, such as Hotels.com Expedia, and AirBnb to narrow down any patterns that Users had become accustomed to. Easy peasy. We improve and adapt or we get left behind.

Conclusion: This new User flow is replacing an older version adapted to the existing site with a react component plugin dedicated only to this page. The UI is much cleaner and considerate of limited space on phones and does not disturb the already established site for the remainder of the booking process.

A seamless piece of modern PWA (Progress Web App) code woven into a legacy site.
